Politics & Religion / Re: Stratfor: The German Question (Deep Read)

That seems lucid.   :-)
Thanks.  :-)

Would you please flesh out how Germany would be "exploited"?

English is not my native language. So, the word "exploited" might not be the correct one.
Germany would have to bear a lot of the costs and risks. With nothing to gain, really. Except trouble.
In the past they could be persuaded to invest for a greater good. But it seldom paid out for them. As yet.

AFAIR, NATO is a mutual defense pact.
It was not meant to expand the Influence of one of its members or the alliance itself.
Just because Germany does not want to get exploited to do so, does not necessarily mean that "NATO is permanently and profoundly broken".
Also, the fact that it could not protect potential new members does not mean it could not protect existing ones.
Throughout its history there were mixed opinions of how effective it could protect the members. But that's another discussion.
So far, I have seen no proof of a "permanently and profoundly broken" NATO. Did I miss something?

And that means NATO is permanently and profoundly broken.
I don't know if this is a correct conclusion.
But the rest is interesting. Thanks for posting.

I wonder if the 72 heavenly Muslim virgins get to choose if the departed one is their first.
Hehe.
But who said there would be female virgins?       04:45  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MugQDD2FcKQ
