while Trump might overlook it since he said it is up to the states this will be a strong negative for Trump if he were chosen VP
and thus may very well keep him from the VP slot

I don't agree with such a strict ban myself.

Not if one wants to ever win an election as Trump points out and many pro lifers even agree on.
