Cognitive Dissonance of the Left
« Reply #2300 on: April 11, 2025, 05:59:11 AM »
I wonder what the market reaction would be if Trump, instead of keeping his promises, changed course and began implementing the Obama Biden Kamala Walz agenda.

Reopen the border, explode the budget, raise every tax including unrealized capital gains, blank check to Ukraine to attack inside Russia, concede the Panama Canal to China and the Suez Canal to the Houthis, Israel to the Palestinians, legalize Fentanyl and human trafficking, cancel fossil fuels, heating, cooking and air conditioning and shut down our manufacturing and exports. Fund the ngos, sex changes for illegals and bring back waste fraud and abuse. Let the dollar and the debt go wherever they may, concede AI to the Chinese and let anyone in the world vote in our elections.

I wonder how the markets would like that.

What Trump is trying to do is difficult but it's better than the known alternative.

fascinating idea to ponder

and excellent point to make.

Trump is the only Presdident to take actions for all our major problems.   Yet he gets nothing but criticism from the commiecrats.

The only thing I can be near certain of is the Crats would still bitch moan and complain about him being the devil - even if he suddenly took their positions.

Agree Doug

I would also add discrimination against Conservatives

Of their 350 to 390 affiliated lawyers how many are Conservatives or Republicans?

Funny how some of the riches men in the world were drop outs of Havard or other IVies.

The Key to Ducking a Felony Charge in Minneapolis

Hear about the DA that refused to charge an MN civil servant that has vandalized several Teslas to the tune of $21K? The same DA in the same week charged a women for a single incident of keying a coworkers car.

"Progressives" don't need no stinking consistency:

Cognitive Dissonance of the Left, Lowest leadership polling on record
« Reply #2314 on: April 30, 2025, 04:43:15 AM »
https://pjmedia.com/matt-margolis/2025/04/29/things-keep-getting-worse-for-the-democrats-n4939354

Democrats just hit a staggering new low, and even CNN can’t spin it. On “CNN News Central,” Brianna Keilar revealed that Democratic leadership’s approval has plummeted to a record-breaking 27%—the lowest number CNN has recorded since it started polling this question nearly twenty years ago.
-----------------------------------------------

(Doug)  Right now it looks like AOC will be their 2028 nominee.  It can't be Bernie and she's the one jetting around with Bernie, drawing big crowds, enjoying having the torch passed to her.

How is Rahm Emmanuel saying 'we should moderate' going to compete with that?

Anyone who thinks an inexperienced, most liberal member of Congress can't win a national election should review the 2008 tapes.

Speaking of CNN and declining Dem numbers
« Reply #2315 on: April 30, 2025, 07:00:52 AM »
While switching stations last night turned on Kaitlen Collins to see what Trump bashing topic she was on today.  Amazing how nearly every time I turn to that station within one sentence I hear Trump's name in a negative light.

Anyway,  She had Schumer on.  I was astounded that while he was speaking they put a banner that rolled across the screen that read "Schumer approval among Democrats is 17%"

I never saw them undercut a Dem like that.   The Dem deep state knives are turning for Chuck I guess.

Of course I could only stand no more than 2 minutes of watching both Schumer and Collins before I either had to change the station or start yelling at my TV.

"Schumer approval among Democrats is 17%"

  - That means they want more fight, not moderation?

Schumer was the guy who threatened Justices Gorsuch and Alito, "we're coming for you.."

More reckless than any crazy Trump statement I can think of.

The want more evil than that?!

It really just means the party is leaderless, (and message-less).  No one from the more reasonable wing can win the nomination and no one from the flame throwing wing is nationally acceptable.

"nearly every time I turn to that station within one sentence I hear Trump's name in a negative light."

  - That is their message, and it works best as an opposition party, not a governing party.  They sucked at governing.

Libs now saying how DOGE didn't really cut enough

DOGE cuts programs like promised to voters

Next ehe deep state the fed workers , unions, msm and schmoes like Raskin Goldman and Powkahantus scream the tragedy and damage and destruction the cuts are causing.

Then many of DOGE cuts get scaled back

Now the LEFT has the God darn nerve to come out with lines like "they didn't cut hardly anything like the left wing douches on CNN are now saying.

Yes, Contradictions and double standards.

There are more cuts coming (hopefully) in the budget package.

What I hear is, yes we want to cut waste fraud and abuse, but we don't like the way they are doing it. My answer, then you should have cut waste fraud and abuse your way when your side was in power.  They did just the opposite. These wasteful abuses were intentional.

Same with tariffs, protecting the border, growing the economy, they may say they want it done but they don't like the way he is doing it. Then you should have done it the right way when you folks were in power.

The hated Trump is in power for one reason, bad governance by the left (combined with no other Republican willing or able to do anything about it).

Bernie Sanders, AOC tour:  We need private jets to get to more people and warn them of climate change.

"And we will continue to do it in the future".

No regrets.

But we will oppose every effort to drill, refine or transport the fuel that makes that possible. That is our message.

Cognitive Dissonance of the left, Kamala's loss was Joe's fault?
« Reply #2322 on: May 14, 2025, 06:37:17 AM »
I'm fascinated that the Left keeps debating this for lessons learned, and keep avoiding the elephant in the room.  It was the policies stupid.

Joe dropped out too late, we are told.  Kamala didn't have enough time to run a campaign.
https://prospect.org/culture/books/2025-05-14-kamala-could-have-won-whipple-allen-parnes-review/

But when he did drop out, he gave Kamala a billion dollars, half the summer and all of the fall to run the campaign - and they hid her from all interviews even from friendly outlets of which all msm are.

in 2020, Biden hid in the basement, and won.  He used covid as the reason/excuse.  And then they hid Kamala.  Why? Because she wasn't ready.

It exposed that Kamala wasn't in charge, 'aides' were.  She never admitted not being ready.

How could she not be ready, she had 6 years to get ready, plus the rest of her 60 years preparing to run for President.  She ran for the job of President in 2019.  She ran for VP in 2020.  She served as VP in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 no constitutional responsibilities other than to be ready to step in for the oldest most senile President ever.  And to break the Senate ties on their reckless spending sprees.

As VP, she wasn't his most trusted adviser; the people behind the curtain were.

Joe's candidacy was based on an implied promise he would govern as a moderate Democrat.  His policy failure all the way through was to govern as a Radical Left President.  Harris would have governed further Left, if that was possible.

People accepted Joe's senility and government by aides behind the curtain.  People accepted that Kamala had a fine resume; she held all the right jobs to rise to the nomination (even though she never won a Democrat delegate in a primary).

What they didn't accept in the end were the policies of her administration that led to the results.

She didn't once try to separate herself from the agenda, and if she had done that honestly, it would have been in the direction of more radical, not less.
---------------------------
Her toxic personality didn't help either.  Getting to know her was not getting to like her:
https://nypost.com/2025/05/13/us-news/kamala-harris-aides-held-mock-soiree-to-practice-socializing-book/

She leads the polls for 2028 nominee but won't ever again be the candidate.
