Chief of Staff Ron Klain appears to be the point person, but who is his brain trust?  Who did he immediately talk to when Biden said we will defend Taiwan and 'they' had to 'correct' him?

Yes, what a jerk.  He's the one raising gas prices.

During Katrina refineries were shut down.  The price mechanism allowed scarce supply to flow to it's most valuable use.  Prices went up and came back down. No one went to a station and found no gas.  The variable that stayed constant was oil company greed, aka trying to stay in business and make a return on investment.

I'm not aware of any refineries on Sanibel Island or inland from there.
