Threading the needle.  Her story is the opposite of compelling.

She carefully and intentionally earned the spot of Leftmost US Senator to position herself for the 2020 primaries.  A prettier face than Bernie Sanders, not by much.

She went after frontrunner Joe Biden like no one ever has.  "I was that girl" she said after a strange tale of how tough it was in Berkeley or Montreal or wherever.

They send Obama to Madison because it's all about turnout of your base.  Meanwhile, top of the ticket Kamala tours swing state to swing state in a lovefest with Liz Cheney, and her father, Democrat hero(not) Dick Cheney.

Kamala faux disavows all the positions of the Left.  Suddenly she's a border hawk.  A capitalist.  A constitutionalist.  A Fracker!

Nobody she's targeting believes it but it's got to be a little dispiriting on the Left, people who never knew their positions are too extreme.  NYT has the story:

But, as someone who was a federal prosecutor for 21 years, what truly offends me is the way she viewed her power to ruin lives. 

I have written this before -- early in my career, I had a senior prosecutor I respected tell me to temper my enthusiasm for "doing right".  His advice was to understand how my signature would ruin lives -- not just the defendant's life, but the lives of his/her spouse and children.  Everything normal would be turned upside down by having the DOJ seeking to send them to federal prison.

The warning was meant to be sobering, and it stuck with me.  Now as a defense attorney I see the reality of that warning that was only theoretical when told to me. 

Harris never had that view -- her comments here, which came many years into her career -- reflect a lust for that kind of power.  She seems to relish the fact that she could ruin lives rather than be restrained by it.

It is the very essence of prosecutorial discretion - to be influenced by other factors into not filing a criminal charge that might be technically warranted by a myopic focus on the facts alone.

She's a two-dimensional thinker who is oblivious to consequences of her decisions. 

That makes her dangerous.

2nd post. I’ve bumped into a couple sources claiming they can’t find many if any felonies Harris prosecuted, often embracing semantics by saying she “tried” hundreds of cases, which I guess means she was in the chain of command and hence her figurehead status confers vicarious credibility of some sort.

As that may be, I jumped on Qwant, asking if Harris had tried any cases. It appears she has, every now and then, but it’s a handful of felony cases, and sundry misdemeanors as she was working her way up the ladder. Far fewer, in short, than she constantly intimates. Given that the prosecutorial drum is one she beats long and loudly (it’s worth noting that some of the cases she was involved with left many “Progressives” unhappy, while others got LEOs spun up) and indeed, it appears to be one of the few credentials and accomplishments she is able to cite, it strikes me that this question should have been dug into far more vigorously than MSM, little better than Dem shills, devoted to it:

Biden won the 2020 election by staying in the basement "because of covid". He didn't do the Super Bowl softball interview while running for reelection because, I guess they didn't give a reason.

She was anointed late, barely had time to introduce herself, so she avoided all interviews and engagements with the press and public.

And when they did let her go out, they tried to hide most of it.

He asked her the same question five or six times because he doesn't get an answer. On the highlights reel, he asks once and they clip in the best of what they could find in the answers. That, of course, is misleading. Mostly they edited to make her look fast when mostly she was slow.

I don't think they want us to get to know her better, it doesn't help.

The whole way she is asking herself, 'how do I fit my prepared Spiel into his questions. I won't give anyone another inch no matter how many times they ask.'
