Re: Harris Staff Turnover Rate vs Trump's staffing issues
« Reply #351 on: July 31, 2024, 05:52:04 AM »
"I hope someone bothers to ask her a question about this (90% Harris staff turnover) as IMO this metric strongly correlates w/ leadership ability."

It will come up when Trump is accused of the same.  He had trouble getting the right people but when he did, they stayed and they performed well.  Mike Pompeo at Secretary of State for example and Robert O'Brien at national security adviser, after some other mistake picks.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2019/09/19/trump-chose-exactly-national-security-adviser-he-country-need/

Trump had angry (or failed) advisers as well but John Bolton for example served a purpose.  Having a very publicly hawkish national security adviser while negotiating with Kim Jung Un helped Trump to tame this enemy. Bolton couldn't keep straight that he was there to advise, not set policy.

Trump's economic team was VERY competent, and it was measurable in results and in polling after his administration.  A large majority currently trust Trump more on the economy.  Kevin Hassett, Larry Kudlow, Steve Moore were excellent choices and proved it.  They didn't have issues with Trump.

Funny how certain people on the Left, Hillary Clinton, Amy Klobuchar and Kamala Harris have more ego than competence.  Margaret Thatcher didn't have any of those problems so it isn't simply a gender issue.

The contrast is stark.  Look at what Trump accomplished out of what he set out to do.  A major tax reform package, Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, passed and succeeded.  Building the wall (needed two terms).  Putting Xi on the defensive.  Containing Putin and Hamas.  Killing Soleimani, stopping Iran.  3 great picks onto the Supreme Court.  Look at what Harris has been tasked with, casting the deciding vote on $3 trillion of purely inflationary spending, 'solving' the border crisis...  Her staff isn't proud of their accomplishments?

She brought down the entire concept of a DEI hire.

It would certainly appear par for the course where this admin is concerned:

Kamala's NatSec Adviser Probed Over Ties to Iranian Influence Network

'The Biden-Harris Administration is no stranger to Iran accommodators, appeasers, and accomplices,' Cotton and Stefanik write

Adam Kredo

July 31, 2024

Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R., N.Y.) launched a probe into Vice President Kamala Harris's national security adviser over his ties to an Iranian government influence network, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.

In a Wednesday letter to Harris, Cotton and Stefanik asked the presumptive Democratic nominee to provide information about her adviser Phil Gordon's "connections to Ms. Ariane Tabatabai, a senior Department of Defense official who was reportedly involved in an Iranian government operation to expand Tehran's soft power in the United States."

Gordon, the letter notes, coauthored at least three opinion pieces with Tabatabai that argued against sanctions on the Iranian regime. Tabatabai was outed last year as an alleged member of an Iranian-run influence network that reported back to Tehran's foreign ministry.
Gordon's connections to Tabatabai are fueling concerns ahead of the 2024 election. Gordon is likely to play a central national security role in a Harris White House, and his connections to pro-Tehran advocacy groups suggest that renewed diplomacy with Iran will be a top foreign policy priority for Harris if she is elected.

Cotton and Stefanik are primarily concerned about Gordon's access to classified information and want to know if his ties to Tehran's enablers might disqualify him from holding a top-secret security clearance.

Gordon, the lawmakers note, published pieces with Tabatabai "blatantly promoting the Iranian regime's perspective and interests." Those pieces were published after the time Tabatabai was alleged to be working for the Iran Experts Initiative (IEI), an influence network that included several American policymakers associated with the Biden administration's former Iran envoy, Robert Malley, who was indefinitely suspended from his job amid allegations that he leaked classified information.

In a March 2020 article, Gordon and Tabatabai "claimed continued sanctions on Iran would create 'catastrophe' in the Middle East," Cotton and Stefanik wrote in their letter. In another piece, according to the lawmakers, Gordon and Tabatabai "wrote sanctions could lead to new Iranian efforts to 'lash out with attacks on its neighbors, and on Americans and American interests in the Middle East.' Each prediction was as wrong, as it was biased in favor of Tehran."

Gordon is also "closely associated with the National Iranian American Council (NIAC), another Iranian influence organization that allegedly collaborates with Tehran," according to the letter. NIAC has long faced allegations of serving as Iran's unregistered lobbying arm in America and was a player in the Obama administration's self-described pro-Tehran "echo chamber." Gordon spoke at NIAC's Leadership Conference in 2014 and 2016, before and after his time serving in the Obama administration as a Middle East hand working on the nuclear agreement with Iran.

"The Biden-Harris Administration is no stranger to Iran accommodators, appeasers, and accomplices," Cotton and Stefanik wrote. "Ms. Tabatabai remains gainfully employed in the Defense Department, helping oversee sensitive special operations. The FBI is investigating your former Special Envoy for Iran Robert Malley for passing classified intelligence to Tehran and your Special Envoy Amos Hochstein allegedly passed intelligence about Israeli airstrikes to Hezbollah potentially as recently as this weekend."

The lawmakers pressed the vice president's office to come clean about Gordon's ties to the pro-Tehran advocacy world and about the nature of his relationship with Tabatabai.

"When you hired Mr. Gordon, were you aware of his connections with Ariane Tabatabai, the IEI, and the NIAC?" Cotton and Stefanik asked. "Did Mr. Gordon undergo security screening and receive a security clearance when you hired him? Does he have an active security clearance?"

The lawmakers also want to know if Harris initiated an investigation into Gordon after "Tabatabai's connections to the Iranian Foreign Ministry were revealed in September 2023."

"Did Mr. Gordon admit and report his ties to this individual?" they asked. "Have you or Mr. Gordon met with other members of the IEI, including Ali Vaez? Have you met with Ms. Tabatabai personally?"

"As the Vice President do you support Ms. Tabatabai's continued employment at the Department of Defense?" the lawmakers went on. "As the Vice President what specific actions will you take to address the issue of Iranian sympathizers, aside from yourself, within the Administration?"

In his 2014 speech to the NIAC, Gordon said that a "nuclear agreement [with Iran] could begin a multi-generational process that could lead to a new relationship between our countries."

NIAC continues to champion diplomacy with Iran and praised Harris in 2020 for committing to reenter the nuclear deal after former president Donald Trump abandoned it.

In a 2018 op-ed written with Malley, Gordon argued that "Iran sanctions won't advance U.S. interests."

"Far from convincing Tehran to cooperate, new U.S. measures are on track to achieve the exact opposite," Gordon and Malley wrote in Foreign Policy magazine. "In Trump's vision, sanctions are a quasi-magical, multi-purpose tool: They would force Iran back to the table to accept an improved nuclear deal, include restrictions on Tehran's ballistic missiles program, and give inspectors unlimited access."

VDH on Kamala’s “Progressive” Proclivities
« Reply #355 on: July 31, 2024, 03:29:31 PM »
2nd post. Proclivities her handlers are now seeking to conceal:

Kamala Harris’s Joe Biden Problem

A selected Kamala Harris will become the only presidential nominee of the two parties in the modern era, who has never once entered, much less won, a single primary.

And it is hard to think of a single statement or position that Kamala Harris has not suddenly disowned or now rejected.

It is near miraculous how for three-and-a-half years Kamala Harris was the Biden administration’s megaphone for its hard-left craziness.

She was the go-to emissary to the radical Democratic base. Yet now she seems to be copying Trump on secure borders, legal only immigration, support for law enforcement, and fracking.

Still, when the Kamala hysteria subsides, Harris may well suffer the fate of Michael Dukakis, as James Pierson recently noted.

After the giddiness of the July 1988 Democratic convention, the Democratic nominee Michael Dukakis was leading incumbent president George H.W. Bush in the Gallup poll by 17 points.

Yet he was crushed by Bush in November by a 7.8 points. Why and how?

Bush’s politico Lee Atwater in series of brutal but accurate ads (the tank fiasco ad, the Willie Horton revolving door ad, the polluted Boston Harbor ad, etc.) accurately redefined Dukakis (a far more capable, kind, and well-spoken official than Kamala Harris) as an unapologetic Massachusetts far-left liberal.

And by the way, the 1988 election was the last time Republicans won 51 percent of the presidential vote. Apparently, the Republican party grandees decided never again to “lower” themselves to the Atwater level. And so, they have gone on to lose “nobly” seven of the last eight popular votes.

One of the most demagogic Harrisisms was her 2020 claim that the pseudo-martyr Jussie Smollett was a victim of American racism and homophobia. Here is what she gushed:

“Jussie Smollett is one of the kindest, most gentle human beings I know. I’m praying for his quick recovery. This was an attempted modern-day lynching. No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin. We must confront this hate.”

The Left until late June used to refer to her as our “border czar.” And indeed, she insisted the nonexistent border was “secure,” even as her own administration unapologetically welcomed an influx of 10 million illegal aliens.

In her role, Harris envisioned dismantling ICE, opposed the wall, and did not consider illegal entry into the U.S. a crime.

Americans were talked down to by Harris and told not to say, “illegal alien”—as she ritually introduced herself with her pronouns “she/her”.

Harris was an early vocal supporter of the green new deal that would have bankrupted the middle class.

The word cop Harris also sermonized us not to utter the phrase “radical Islamic terrorism”—as if, say, the 9/11 killers were not radical, were not Islamic, and were not terrorists?

(Just this week at the Olympics when the Israeli national anthem was played, radical pro-Hamas crowds waved their Palestinian flags, while wildly saluting and chanting “Heil Hitler”).

In the recent pre-July 21st world of Kamala Harris, there should be no private health care, but certainly free government coverage for illegal aliens.

If you currently legally own a supposed “assault weapon” the government has a right nonetheless to force (“mandated”) you to sell it to them.

For Harris, a country $36 trillion in debt, with $1.2 trillion in interest payments per year, in its seventh decade of affirmative action, ever increasing DEI mandates and virtual quotas, and over $20 trillion spent on Great Society poverty programs should nevertheless go ahead with racial reparations—a policy that even Californians reject.

All abortions are to be permitted on demand to the moment of birth. (We are not told by Harris the method of terminating the baby in passage through the birth canal.)

Police should be defunded, and thousands of imprisoned criminals released. Harris vocally supported California’s disastrous de facto legalization of shoplifting and “misdemeanor” theft of items less than $950.

She sought to raise bail funds for the 2020 rioters, many of them arrested for street violence, assault, and looting.

Her most infamous demagoguery was her CBS interview with Steven Colbert when she boasted that the ongoing 2020 protests (quite violent despite her fact-checkers’ efforts to “contextualize” Harris’s vitriol) would not cease:

“They’re not going to stop. This is a movement, I’m telling you. They’re not going to stop, and everyone beware, because they’re not going to stop. They’re not going to stop before Election Day in November and they’re not going to stop after Election Day. They’re not going to let up and they should not, and we should not.”

Note how Harris called the Antifa-BLM orchestrated violence a “movement”. Note her threats that the turmoil would not stop and “should not” stop.  Note her warning “beware”. Note how she shamelessly linked the leftwing protests to the 2020 Election Day, emphasizing their assumed political utility.

In 2020, the Left found old Joe Biden from Scranton a useful “moderate” and “unifying” veneer for a hard-core, Obama third-term agenda—thanks to Biden’s long senate career and his Delaware pseudo-working man schtick.

But Harris was first a Bay-Area leftist, second a California hard-core progressive, and third a failed 2020 primary candidate who tried to vie with Bernie Sanders for the Democratic socialist base—on the assumption she had a harder left record in the Senate than Sanders himself.

So, the 2024 Harris campaign may again emulate the 2020 formula of keeping the gaffe-prone, cognitively challenged candidate in the basement.

Like Joe Biden, Harris’s deer-in-the-headlights moments are not sporadic but characteristic. And so the only remedy is as much seclusion from the public as possible.

And her handlers, as in the case of Biden, may again count on the 2020 revolutionary changes in state ballot laws to ensure that nearly 70 percent of voters do not cast ballots on Election Day.

But in 2024 they will not be able again to veneer the hard-core leftwing Harris and repackage her as a middle-class centrist.

There was never any such thing as good ol’ moderate Kamala from Berkeley.

we are in deep trouble and no one wants to speak about it.
strongly recommend the first part of the podcast about the debt hydrogen bomb x 50 that will hit the US at the rate we are going and will accelerate under Harris who wants free college debt relief 6 month *paid" child care Medicare for all
and good knows how many other social programs despite we will soon be unable to pay the ones we have.

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-debt-robert-schmad-on-whos-funding-kamala/id1126543994?i=1000663861007

Instead, he in his most clumsy and insulting way questions that she is not really an American black but Jamaican/Indian  giving the LEFT forever talking points.

Stick to the policies Don!

How about pointing out Kamala wants people to afford food education etc etc yet the easy response what the hell is she talking about.
She was in the White House for the past 4 yrs and that is exactly why prices skyrocketed etc.

I really can't believe all of these rabid Black women for Harris on the networks

They look like they are on pervitin ready to kill all Rs who stand in the way of Kamala.

They are even worse then the DNC Jews as far as closed minded opinionated.

I just don't get it the total lack of logic or concern.  It is all emotional.
Kamala will drive this nation into the deepest trenches of the Pacific.

I think it was on Meghan Kelly a guest pointed out Alexdouche's org and David Plouffe are behind Kamala

no wonder her speech had vibes of Brock with the last word of sentences or phrases with the upward inflections.

Obviously not a coincidence - she never gave speech like that.

They were prepping her for months for sure.

"The Harris campaign clearly realizes that she gets into trouble when she is unscripted which is likely why she not yet held a press conference. But sooner or later, she will have to face reporters. She will also participate in a debate with Trump, who has become decidedly more disciplined this time around."

I will not believe for 1 second that someone will leak the questions of any debate to Harris handlers .

She reminds me of that boxer from the movie 'The Harder They Fall" who is managed and controlled by the mob who advertise him as this great boxer when in fact the whole show is rigged to make him look good.

Frank Luntz.

I can. But it's all negative stuff. She accomplished an open border. She accomplished trillions of dollars of excess spending. She accomplished interest cost of a trillion a year. She accomplished inflation we haven't seen since Jimmy carter. She gets credit for all of Biden's record and she was there for all of it.

We are finding SO MUCH material on her, yet she polls better than the alleged moderate.  We need to get this whole lost out and then zero in on the ones that matter most.

She is/was the Left-most Senator.  Our message needs to be:  What's Wrong with Left?

Here is the list from the link:

1. Black Lives Matter rioters and criminal justice

Following the death of George Floyd, Harris shared on social media the Minnesota Freedom Fund in June 2020 amid the Black Lives Matter riots. The fund gave hundreds of thousands of dollars to free a twice convicted rapist and a woman charged with stabbing her friend to death. Of the more than $41 million raised by the fund, only a fraction of it was used to free rioters.

Harris called for ending the cash bail system during her 2020 presidential campaign.

2. Healthcare

Harris was an original co-sponsor of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) "Medicare for All" legislation in 2019. She echoed claims that Sanders’ bill allowed "supplemental" plans and therefore didn’t eliminate private insurance. Then Harris released her own Medicare for All plan where there would be a 10-year transition period to Medicare for All while allowing private insurance plans to continue.

3. Energy and The Green New Deal

Harris introduced the Green New Deal legislation with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) in 2020. The measure could have cost up to $93 trillion, according to the American Action Forum. The Heritage Foundation estimated that the Green New Deal would wipe out more than 5.2 million jobs by 2040 at a peak employment shortfall.

She also co-sponsored a ban on offshore drilling in 2017.

During the 2020 presidential race, Harris said she supported banning plastic straws and reducing the consumption of red meat nationwide.

She also said in 2019 that she supported banning fracking. However, since joining Biden’s campaign in 2020, she has reversed that stance, and in an about-face, Harris’s campaign said last week that she doesn’t support bans on fracking.

4. Gun control

In 2019, Harris said that in her first 100 days as president, she would take executive action to ban imports of AR-15 rifles. The Washington Post reported that in fact, soon after Obama’s election, domestic production of semiautomatic rifles surpassed the previous year by nearly 60 percent. According to Statistica, most of the more than 20 million AR-15 rifles in the U.S. have been made domestically.

During the 2020 presidential race, she also supported a ban on new sales of assault weapons and a mandatory buyback program for confiscating Americans’ assault weapons.

In the 2008 District of Columbia v. Heller case, Harris filed an amicus brief as the San Francisco district attorney, arguing that there is not a broad constitutional right to gun ownership.

5. Immigration and open borders

During a 2018 Senate confirmation hearing for Ronald Vitiello to lead Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), after asking Vitiello about the Ku Klux Klan, Harris asked whether there were parallels between perceptions of ICE and the KKK. Vitiello said he didn’t see any parallels.

In 2018, Harris said, “I think there’s no question that we’ve got to critically re-examine ICE, and its role, and the way that it is being administered, and the work it is doing. And we need to probably think about starting from scratch." However, Harris’s spokesperson later said that the then-senator was considering "a complete overhaul of the agency, mission, culture, operations."

Harris was named – albeit euphemistically – as Biden’s border czar in March 2021. Nomenclature aside, she was assigned the task of resolving root causes of the border crisis. Last week, the GOP-led House, including six Democrats, passed a resolution "strongly condemning" Harris for her performance as the "border czar." The House resolution noted that there have been 9.7 million illegal immigrant encounters nationwide since January 2021.

6. Abortion

When she ran in the 2020 presidential race, Harris criticized Biden’s campaign’s position supporting the Hyde Amendment, which prevents most federal funding of abortion. However, Biden had said he changed his mind and no longer supported the amendment.

Harris is believed to be the first sitting VP to visit an abortion clinic, which she did in Minnesota in March. As a senator, Harris, along with more than two dozen other senators co-sponsored the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would have created a national right to abortion.

7. Student loan forgiveness

While running for president in the 2020 race, Harris promoted a student-debt forgiveness plan in 2019 as part of investing in Historically Black Colleges and Universities and black entrepreneurs. Her plan allowed up to $20,000 of student loans to be forgiven for borrowers who received a Pell Grant if they started and operated a business for a minimum of three years in a disadvantaged community.

Later, Harris endorsed Biden’s plant that canceled up to $10,000 of federal student loan debt per borrower.

8. Supreme Court packing

In 2019, Harris said that if she was elected president, she would be open to increasing the number of justices on the U.S. Supreme Court.

“We are on the verge of a crisis of confidence in the Supreme Court,” Harris said at the time. “We have to take this challenge head on, and everything is on the table to do that.”

On Monday, Biden released details of his proposal for changes to the Supreme Court, which called for Congress to establish term limits and an ethics code for the court’s nine justices. Harris endorsed the proposal, which didn’t recommend adding justices to the high court.

9. LGBTQ+ rights

Harris’s 2020 presidential election campaign’s website said that, as president, she would “[r]educe incarceration of LGBTQ+ individuals.”

The website added that she would “[e]stablish a Chief Advocate for LGBTQ+ Affairs in the White House.” When Harris was California attorney general, she refused to defend Proposition 8, which was a ballot initiative outlawing gay marriage that Californians passed with over 52% of the vote.

Earlier this month, the White House came under fire from transgender activists after a spokesperson said that the Biden-Harris administration opposes gender transition surgeries for children. After backlash from LGBTQ+ community demanding affirmation of gender transitions for children, the administration backpedaled and clarified that it did, in fact, support the invasive surgeries for children, according to The Advocate.

10. Inflation

Harris cast the tie-breaking vote in the Senate for the first COVID-19 stimulus package in 2021 which led to rampant inflation. The $1.9 trillion stimulus package resulted in the U.S. inflation rate jumping from 1.4% in 2020 to 7% in 2021.

She also echoed Biden’s State of the Union address in 2022, saying that the record-high gas prices are the "price to pay for democracy" as the U.S. continued to provide billions of dollars in military support for Ukraine following Russia’s invasion. The U.S. State Department estimates that U.S. taxpayers have provided more than $57 billion in military aid since to Ukraine since 2022.

with regards to Obama.  Who was left office 8 yrs ago and through his contacts was still affecting policy and now has near total strings to the WH?

I could be wrong but I can't think of anyone.

He is positioned exactly as he said he would dream of.

Yes, this is REALLY bizarre.  I know it's a cabal, a team, but he has to be at the top of it, the man who walked into the Presidency with no experience.  I think he lost control over his succession because a) he had picked Joe who was a disaster, and b) he had edged out Hillary and needed her to get Joe to sit.  He lost power just through her campaign because the Clintons had their own people - and their own skeletons to protect.  But took it all back in exile under Trump.  All the Comey, Mueller FISA crap points to Obama (and the Clintons), starting with bugging Trump Tower.

I have to think Obama knew about the Joe and Hunter business (under his watch) and would rather have seen it buried.

The Palace Coup of July 2024 is something new in America.  They ousted Joe but left him in office - or in the basement.  The behind the scenes stuff will be a story to tell, and never be told...

Kamala is getting the same hide away treatment; she has not had a press conference in 14 days at the top of the ticket.  Not ready for prime time??  She's never had a hostile, tough or challenging interview, and blows it even with softballs.  Doesn't matter.  She won't be in charge.

She has the same advisers.  'Meet the new boss, same as the old boss'.

One of these days she will read from the teleprompter instructions, "Don't cackle".

Kamala Harris’ record of ‘anti-Catholic bigotry’

Catholics warn of Kamala Harris’ record of ‘anti-Catholic bigotry’
By Valerie Richardson The Washington Times Tuesday, July 23, 2024
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2024/jul/23/traditional-catholics-warn-of-kamala-harris-recor/

Vice President Kamala Harris’ pro-abortion views and “anti-Catholic bigotry” are ringing warning bells for advocates of the faith, which has about 71 million members in the U.S.

No sooner had President Biden dropped out of the race Sunday than traditional Catholics sounded the alarm on what CatholicVote called Ms. Harris’ history of “anti-Catholic bigotry,” citing incidents that date to her days as California attorney general and U.S. senator.

“Since the day she stepped into public life, Kamala Harris has epitomized gross incompetence, corruption and shameless bigotry that have become the mark of hard-left politicians,” CatholicVote President Brian Burch said. “She has specifically targeted people of faith and pro-life citizens for their beliefs and defense of the most defenseless in our society.”

One memorable example: Her 2018 quizzing of federal judiciary nominee Brian Buescher about his membership in the Knights of Columbus, a men’s Catholic fraternal organization with 2 million members known for its pancake breakfasts and charitable work.

Ms. Harris, who at the time was a senator on the Judiciary Committee, asked Mr. Buescher if he knew that the group “opposed a woman’s right to choose” and if he had “ever, in any way, assisted with or contributed to advocacy against women’s reproductive rights.”

She and Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawaii, who asked if he would quit the Knights if confirmed, were accused of imposing a religious litmus test on federal judicial nominees in violation of Article VI of the Constitution.

Examples of where Ms. Harris has clashed with conservative Catholics and Christians often — but not always — involve her support for unfettered abortion access. They include:

• As California attorney general, she backed a 2015 state law requiring pro-life pregnancy centers to offer abortion referrals. The U.S. Supreme Court struck down the law on free-speech grounds;

She also authorized a 2015 raid on the home of pro-life activist David Daleiden over his hidden-camera probe into Planned Parenthood affiliates selling fetal tissue from abortions for research. Pro-life groups accused her of a conflict of interest based on her campaign support from Planned Parenthood;

• In the Senate, she sponsored the 2019 Do No Harm Act, which would have overridden religious objections to providing birth control in employer insurance plans and performing abortions and gender-transition procedures at Catholic hospitals;

• She cosponsored the 2017 Equality Act, which would ban discrimination based on gender identity, allowing biological males who identify as female to access girls’ and women’s facilities. The bill also exempts itself from the Religious Freedom Restoration Act;

• During her failed 2019 presidential campaign, she suggested that states should be required to obtain pre-clearance from the Justice Department before passing abortion restrictions.

Last year, Ms. Harris was mocked for her speech on abortion rights in which she said the Declaration of Independence guaranteed the right to “liberty and the pursuit of happiness” without mentioning life.

(more at the link)
-----------------------
[Doug]  There you have it.  There are differing views on abortion.  None should ignore the effect on the mother (situations of rape and of saving her life first) and none should ignore the fact that a small human is killed in the process.

The point with Kamala is not that her view is extreme, but that no other view may be tolerated.  Since opposition to abortion has a foundation in religion which is specifically protected in the constitution, hers is an anti-constitutional view.

We watched Republicans overreach the public on abortion and lose elections, but Kamala's position is the most extreme of all.

Ultimate irony:  Kamala believes "Reproductive Rights" (abortion) is a natural, total and complete right, the right of the mother to have the unborn killed and removed at any time for any reason at least until birth and the mother must be trusted on that.  No one, not the father, not the state, not a judge and certainly not the unborn can say otherwise.  But when the child is born, Harris and the Left will take away all kinds of parental rights from school choice and curriculum to the involvement and consent of the parents in the act of child 'gender change'.  Once born, the mother is no longer trusted.

The only consistency in her world is that the father has no rights or say before or after birth.

As "Progressive" Dems natter on about their "weird" messaging, there's a single question that, if asked on a regular basis, could prove devastating to ol' Kam's campaign: name one accomplishinment of your vice presidency. Lies and sand in the air is all that will ensue, but IMO it's something to be hammered on:

Kamala Harris, What are these positions she's now denying?

Kamala Harris wants you to forget all she once stood for

At the height of the Black Lives Matter movement, Ms. Harris promoted a bail fund that freed men convicted of murder and sexual assault. While out on bail, some committed more crimes. Sounds like what happened to Democratic Massachusetts Gov. Michael Dukakis when Willie Horton, a convicted murderer who had been sentenced to life without parole, received a weekend furlough, traveled to Maryland where he raped a woman after pistol-whipping, stabbing, binding and gagging her fiance. He then stole the car belonging to the man he had assaulted.

As a California progressive from San Francisco, perhaps the most liberal city in the United States, Ms. Harris is apparently all in on the Green New Deal, expansion of entitlements that are the cause of much of our $35 trillion debt, student loan forgiveness (which the Supreme Court ruled unconstitutional), tax increases, which President Biden favors as the Trump tax cuts are to expire next year, a guaranteed income for families making up to $100,000 a year (shades of George McGovern in 1972), free college tuition for families making up to $100,000 a year (co-sponsored by progressive Sen. Bernie Sanders, Vermont independent, and Rep. Pramila Jayapal, Washington Democrat), single-payer health care, which would mean turning our health care over to the government, which does so many things poorly, Medicare for all (unaffordable and see previous comment about government).

She’s also in favor of Mr. Biden’s proposal to transform the Supreme Court into a permanent liberal body.

As California Attorney General [she launched] an investigation into Exxon Mobil over its carbon emissions … and in 2019 she endorsed a nationwide ban on oil and gas fracking...

Ms. Harris once compared Immigration and Customs Enforcement to the Ku Klux Klan. ICE, along with Border Patrol agents, has been impossibly burdened by the Biden-Harris open border policy

-------------------------------------------
Trump is finally hitting his stride against her and making points like these and more.

Like Biden, her word salads aren't the problem, but maybe they expose why she is so vulnerable to having her mind taken over by the extreme Left.

Here's an irony:  If past positions don't mater, why are they so obsessed with (mischaracterizing) 3 hours of Donald Trump's life 4 years ago on Jan 6?

Veering to the center for an election is just that.  This isn't Lucy and the football in a comic.  This is the future of the country and of the world we are talking about.

BBG:  "You know, given Hunter's attempts to abandon his out of wedlock child and indeed grandpa Joe's recapitulation of the same perhaps it's time to weaponize this tendency against Harris. Kamala will take care of all that ails you, except if she has a moral obligation to...."

My daughter started her life 'out of wedlock'.  The family members I was most afraid of telling were perhaps the most supportive.  It's a life, you know, an innocent human life, a member of the family as much as I am.

People give me great compliments for raising my daughter.  I shrug it off, it's not heroic to get your own child out of a burning building (figuratively). It's what we all would do.  But not the Bidens.  Hunter being shameful is no surprise.  But Joe, and Jill, disowning, distancing, allowing her to be sued to prevent her from taking the family name.  No support from any of them while the family made tens of millions?  Disgraceful.   No invitation to Thanksgiving.  No gift on Christmas.  No phone call on the first day of Kindergarten, right while your grandparents bask in the limelight, helping the children of the world.   He even declared publicly the number of grandchildren he had and EXCLUDED her.  Worst was the only people outraged by such moral absence were the people who wouldn't vote for him anyway.  No one swayed either way. To his supporters, 'I see nothing'.  I see nothing wrong - except Trump!  Now here we go again with the great and wise Second Gentleman (second to whom, Jill isn't a "gentleman"), he knocks up the nanny, ordered 'it' killed.  Make it go away.  Umm, that was a life, an innocent human life. Tough luck kid.  Now back to talking about "male toxicity" and how evil Republicans are.

Not trying to give your own family a better life is about as evil as I know.

So now MN’s Walz is said to be in the lead re the VP sweepstakes. As such here are some less than flattering posts re him:

Mitch Berg at shotinthedark.info calls him (on local radio) Gov. Klink.  During lockdown others call him No Balz Walz.  He was never held accountable for his terrible handling of covid.  He governs with a Democrat trifecta in a divided state, meaning from my point of view wrong on everything.  If you measure Minnesota from afar it is a pretty amazing place with a diverse economy.  If you look closer the trend lines on everything under Walz and todat's Democrats, the trend lines on everything are in the wrong direction. The guys at powerlineblog and center for the American Experiment have covered that.

Picking Walz means all the other choices were too controversial for Harris handlers, but to me it has LOSER written all over it. She's dumb enough to pick him but I don't think her handlers are.

He started the "weird" thing, so maybe he is smarter than her handlers.

Trump will make the whole campaign about feeding our future scandal if Walz is picked.

Weird will also backfire on Harris.  No one is weirder than her.

In the last clip above, he throws Hillary election denier back into the mix. That could come back to bite them.

I am reading that Gene Sperling, top WH economic advisor is stepping down and thinking due to the state of the economy.  But it is worse.  He  is joining the Harris/Obama team.  If we enjoyed the economy of the last 4 yrs why not provide us with another 4 to 8 yrs of the same.

Debt = 60 trillion but don't worry they will tax the rich and it will all be covered.  Reparations here we come.

"Stepping down as top economic adviser" (to 'President' Biden).

1. Is Biden still 'President'?  I haven't seen him lately.
2. Of course this is a promotion, not stepping down.  The campaign is already the Presidency, just two weeks in and without a convention or a public vote.  Now he works for Kamala's bosses instead of Joe's bosses (one and the same).

Small irony that the famous line "new boss, same as the old boss” is from a song well known as:

“We Won’t Get Fooled Again”.

Or will we.

Kamala couldn't be more clear and these adviser moves demonstrate it, her campaign slogan is 'More of the Same!'  And they mean MUCH MORE - if you elect them.

Hillary said it, "You can't afford all my ideas!"  And she was a moderate compared to this cabal.

Internal Dynamics of the Harris Campaign
« Reply #397 on: August 06, 2024, 01:31:42 PM »
This don't sound like the crew selection dynamics I'd want to march into political fight with:

@shipwreckedcrew

As I understand the way things unfolded, when she accepted VP slot, it came with the same proviso that Obama applied to Biden -- she could not bring her Senate staffers with her en masse.  She could handpick one or two, but the balance of her VP staff had to come from list supplied by Biden.  Those would have been the people Biden Admin had faith in re loyalty.

She destroyed her VP staff and morale -- just as she had done as AG, in the Senate, and in her campaign.

But when she became the candidate to be designated, she was completely empowered and I suspect over the past 2 weeks she has surrounded herself with people from her old life.  We know Anita Dunn departed the WH staff last week, and Gene Sperling left yesterday.   They were likely sidelined by new Harris staff who have decided they are in charge now, and Biden has no leverage to push back against them since the media went all in and every Dem backed her.
It is this cabal of Harris loyalists who pushed aside the recommendations for a pick like Shapiro or someone else at least a little bit moderate.

For the Harris loyalists this is the moment they have waited for since 2015 -- the climb of the progressive neo-Marxists to the top of the pyramid in the Dem party.  This is not a time to go squishy and call into question what the mandate they expect a victory to represent.

She is going to play the moderate, and Walz is intended to assure the radicals that what they see from Harris is all just facade necessary to get elected.

@shipwreckedcrew
·
3h
Like I said yesterday, their are forces at the top of the Dem party who want Harris to lose in order to open up 2028.

They are the people who whispered in her ear that Walz was a good idea.

Nothing recommends this pick.  The political ads write themselves.
